Fitbit Announces The Versa 2 Its New Watch Connected With OLED Display

More than a year after its first Versa watch, Fitbit unveiled this week its new connected watch, logically called Versa 2, which is equipped with an OLED screen, but also with Amazon’s Alexa assistant.

In April 2018, Fitbit launched the Versa. This was an opportunity for the manufacturer to relaunch itself on the market for watches connected after the Blaze, Surge or Ionic.

Following the success of this model last year, the American manufacturer launched a new model this week, logically called Fitbit Versa 2.

This new connected watch has the same overall design as last year’s version and many of its features.

However, it is distinguished by three major differences. First, the screen that changes from LCD on version 2018 to OLED on Fitbit Versa 2, but the manufacturer did not communicate on the diagonal screen or its definition.

He just announced a “larger Amoled display area”. For your information, the first Fitbit Versa had a 1.34-inch LCD display and a 300×300 pixel resolution. This new LCD display also allows you to enjoy a permanent display mode.

The other main innovation is – as expected – the contribution of Amazon Alexa directly on the watch.

The Fitbit Versa includes a microphone for voice commands. Fitbit also announces compatibility with several streaming music systems such as Spotify or Deezer.

While the first Fitbit Versa watch already made it possible to analyse sleep with the different cycles,

the Versa 2 goes further by also integrating a specific sleep mode, convenient for deactivating notifications and quick display, as well as a sleep score system.

No GPS, but integrated NFC

For the rest of the features, Fitbit announces compatibility with Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth 4.0, the integration of an altimeter,

a heart rate meter and water resistance to 50 meters. The Fitbit Versa 2 can measure more than 15 different sports,

but does not directly integrate GPS. As for autonomy, Fitbit specifies that the watch can last for more than five days and that the complete recharging is done in two hours.

The Fitbit Versa 2 watch is already available for pre-order. It will be available from 15 September at a price of €200.
