The release of Cyberpunk 2077 is fast approaching and it is time to take a look at everything we already know about the upcoming production of CD Projekt Red. Prices, what platform to play on, all kinds of information about the game, find here what you need to know about Cyberpunk 2077.
After conquering the public with the Witcher series, CD Projekt Red aims to hit the video game market again with Cyberpunk 2077, certainly the most anticipated title before the arrival of the next generation of consoles. You will find in this folder all the useful information about what promises to be a little gem.
This was one of the highlights of Los Angeles’ E3 2019: shortly after the arrival on stage of actor Keanu Reeves, who plays one of the characters in the game, we learned that the release date Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled for 16 April 2020. Several months before its availability, Cyberpunk 2077 is already available for pre-order on all media.
Several months before its availability, Cyberpunk 2077 is already available for pre-order on all media. But the price varies according to the resellers. For the moment, it can be found around 60 euros on PC and 65 euros on console.
But more interesting offers will probably be available shortly before the game’s release or just after the launch. If you are not in a hurry, know that CD Projekt RED tends to lower the price of its titles quite generously a few months or years after their release. This was the case for The Witcher, which has been available for a slice of bread with all its DLCs since at least 2017.
It is not easy to get one as stocks run out quickly as soon as availability is announced, but there is also a collector’s version of Cyberpunk 2077. It contains, in addition to the title itself of course, a special box, a CD with the original soundtrack, a steelbook, an artbook and a selection of goodies (25 cm statuette of the character of V, Night City guide, stickers, Night City card, postcards, key ring…). Price of this beautiful pack: 220 euros.
Cyberpunk 2077 has been officially announced on PC, Xbox One, PS4 and the Google Stadia cloud gaming service. Don’t panic for players who plan to acquire it on computer, Cyberpunk 2077 is not hit by any exclusivity and will be released on all partner stores at the same time. You will therefore have the choice between Steam, Epic Games Store or GOG from the start.
Nothing has been said about this yet, but it is extremely likely that the game will later be focused on PS5 and Xbox Scarlett, the next generation consoles expected by the end of 2020.
The question is whether Cyberpunk will integrate the catalogue as soon as they are released and how the power of these new machines, which promise a gaming experience never seen before with teraflops, will be exploited. Here you go, and SSD storage will reduce loading times to zero.
Cyberpunk 2077 will be ray-tracing compatible on PC thanks to a partnership with Nvidia. However, it will of course be necessary to be equipped with a high-end RTX graphics card. The game is playable in 4K on computer and could also be played on Xbox One X.
No precise figures to get to grips with, it will probably be necessary to wait for the tests before having a precise idea of the lifespan of Cyberpunk 2077. But you can get an idea of it right now thanks to a developer’s declaration.
He explained that the main campaign of the game will be shorter than that of The Witcher III, but that more importance will be given to secondary quests, which look more interesting and have a greater impact on history and the environment.
The lifespan will therefore depend enormously on how players approach the game. But based on The Witcher III, we can hope to enjoy the track for more than 100 hours without getting bored.
CD Projekt RED has already indicated that we can then expect the arrival of DLC, which will extend the life of the solo campaign. We can expect a similar model as for The Witcher III, which had two excellent extensions with Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, each extending the adventure by about twenty hours. Small free DLCs will also be offered to players on a regular basis.
The developers have confirmed the presence of a multiplayer mode, but it will not be available as soon as it is released. The priority is reserved for the solo, it is on this point that the studio has made a name for itself and on which it is expected. Nor is it known which business model is reserved for this mode. We hear everything and its opposite on this subject and for the moment, it is impossible to say if microtransactions will be present.
Like The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077 is an RPG. But the similarities end there. While the first one proposed a third person view (TPS), the second one imposed a first person view (FPS). An announcement that did not fail to get the community to react at the time. We leave the medieval and fantastic world in which Geralt de Riv evolves to move on to science fiction.
But when it comes to gameplay, images speak louder than words. We suggest you to watch the video above to understand in part how Cyberpunk 2077 is played.
